Assassin's Creed III Theme Music: Main Theme by Lorne Balfe

Rated M for Mature with Blood, Intense Violence, Sexual Themes, Strong Language.

ABOUT ASSASSIN’S CREED III:
The year is 1775. The American colonies are about to revolt. You are Connor, an assassin who has sworn to secure liberty for his people and his nation. To do so, you will hunt your enemies across a staggeringly large, open, and realistic world. You will unleash your lethal skills in a violent quest that will take you from chaotic city streets to blood-soaked battlefields in the hostile American wilderness and beyond. You will meet legendary heroes of American history, and together you will conspire to annihilate those who threaten Liberty itself.

Whether you use your predatory instincts to kill silently, or your fearsome arsenal to kill openly, one thing is clear: the world that the Assassin’s live in has become far more deadly. And so have you.

KEY FEATURES

CONNER, A NEW ASSASSIN
You are Connor, a warrior son of a Native American mother and British father. As a bloody revolution draws ever nearer, your clan is threatened by a powerful group seeking to crush the American revolution and control the thirteen colonies.

Shocked into action by the devastation of your village, you pledge your life to the cause of freedom, and embark on a decades-long quest to achieve it.

THE SETTING
There’s the American Revolution you know from history books. And then there’s the revolution you’ll be fighting, set in a world that’s far more realistic, gritty, and alive than any history book could be.

NAVAL WARFARE
In Assassin’s Creed III Connor will battle his enemies not only on land, but also on the high seas aboard his stalwart vessel, the Aquila.

You’ll navigate tumultuous waters and command your own naval warship, sending enemies to their watery graves with cannons and an array of powerful naval weaponry. Or should you choose, ready a boarding party and take the fight to the enemy by battling hand-to-hand on the deck of their own ship.

ANVIL NEXT
Experience the jaw-dropping power of Anvil Next, the all-new engine designed exclusively for Assassin’s Creed III.

The team spent three years building this revolutionary system from the ground up, and the results are nothing short of breathtaking.

It begins with stunning breakthroughs in motion-capture, animation, and AI technology, which deliver more realistic character animations and interactions than ever before. It continues with dynamic weather, seasons and time, which significantly affect the world around you. And no all-new engine would be complete without a dramatically expanded combat and stealth system.

I like how everyone hated Conner when the game first came out
Now he's a fan favorite

For me, Connor is the Batman of the AC franchise, he didn't need a magic apple, a magic sword or spear. he is the weapon himself.

This theme is so powerful in so many ways..

Connor saw his mother burnt to death, had to leave his village, had to bury a man who was like a second father to him, was abandoned by his people and was forced to kill his own father and best friend.
his story was the saddest and most tragic one, yet he survived and became someone very great. i seriously get so mad every time someone says he's boring or undeveloped.

Connor is like the Batman of AC
Has emotions but only chooses to show them when appropriate. And is overall badass in combat

I will NEVER understand the hate for this game. Ever.

EDIT: I was a child when I wrote this. I completely get it, and I used to hate the game myself. But it's not all that bad, I do care more about this game now all these years later considering what has happened to this series. I will always be disappointed by the game but I will never hate it.

This game made me realize the Templars weren't necessarily evil. And I love that in a story. A story in which you can understand the antagonist's motives. Great game.

this quote still gives me goosebumps!

Out of all AC games, AC:3 had the saddest soundtrack. You can feel the hopelessness of Connor as he witnessed his people being extinct and being lost like grains of sand slip away from your hand.

As a Native myself, it was really nice to see representation in a franchise that I loved dearly. And while I was a young boy when this game came out, I still thought it was cool and awesome to see a Native American Assassin.
Even as a young child I somewhat had a concept of the struggles my people went through in the past, and as a young man understanding what happened, and seeing Ratonhnhaké:ton/Connor fight for our people and holding true to his beliefs, even if naïve, he never lost his ways. Even after losing everything, his mother, his father and father-figure/mentor, his best friend and his tribe abandoning the village. Never did he waver.

To me, Ratonhnhaké:ton/Connor is an inspiration. While obviously there is no Assassin's and Templars in our reality, his fighting spirit is something I feel I can resonate with. Feeling like that I too could make a change if I kept fighting for what I believe in... Even if it is a distant dream.

Assassin's Creed III really did feel an underrated game, especially for it's time. I hope people will appreciate it more, especially since the audience itself has grown from it's release date.

Connor is by far my favorite assassin, he watched his mother die, his village burned to the ground, had to kill his best friend and his father as well as watch his mentor die and in the end he was betrayed. The men he sought to help were the very ones that drove his people away, making his journey worth nothing, all he did was create a nation he originally wanted no part of

“Mother, Father, I am sorry, I have failed you both. I made a promise to protect our people, I thought, I thought if I could stop the Templars, keep the Revolution free of their influence, then those that I supported would do what was right, they did I suppose do what was right - what was right for them. As for you father, I thought I might unite us, that we would forget the past, and forge a better future. In time I believed you could be made to see the world as I did, to understand, but it was just a dream, this too I should have known. Are we not meant to live in peace then? is that it? Are we born to argue? To fight? So many voices, each demanding something else. It has been hard at times, but never harder than today, to see all I have worked for Perverted, Discarded, Forgotten. You would say I have described the whole of History father, are you smiling then? Hoping I might speak the words you longed to hear? To validate you? To say that all along you were right? I will not. Even as I am now faced with the truth of your cold words, I refuse, because I believe things can still change. I may never succeed, the Assassins may struggle another thousand years in vain, but we will not stop. Compromise. That is what everyone has insisted upon, and so I have learned it, but differently than most I think. I realize now that it will take time, that the road ahead is long and shrouded in darkness, it is a road that will not always take me where I wish to go, and I doubt I will live to see its end, but I will travel down it nonetheless. For at my side walks hope, in the face of all that insist I turn back, I carry on, this ....this is my compromise”

Everyone keeps saying: "Don't waste your life playing videogames, go make memories",
What they don't know is that video games give me the best memories of my life.

I love the fact that this theme is also played when Desmond decides to sacrifice himself, representing perfectly the sacrifice and bravery of both characters, desmond and connor. The best of this theme is that gives you mixed feelings of epicness and adventure, but also feelings of sadness and lonelyness. Just like Connor and Desmond. They would never change their decisions despite their fatal consequences

It’s sad to know that Connor thought he was fighting for freedom so that the British could go away and his people could be saved, but instead it didn’t change anything. At the very last cutscenes you see slaves being sold, his people gone, and every person he loved gone from his life. He was nothing more than a weapon being used, caught in a war that would change the course of history forever. Connor is the definition of an unsung hero if you really think about it.
