Hey Guys, l just need to stress this point:

With this video I'm not saying that the fuel seperator is a wrong, or bad thing.Engineers obviously knew what they were doing when they designed this part.., but what I am saying is that the fuel that we getting today literally can boil in the fuel seperator, ..and this causes a problem, as the heat vaporises the fuel that goes into the carburetor..causing performance issues ..If you are able to use a bit of creative thinking you could move the seperator away from the heat of the engine, where it can still function normally and not hinder or obstruct other parts on the engine .

I moved mine away from the engine and this solved the problem. Our fuel has some ethanol in it which has lowered the boiling point.

I follow your advice on the T-piece mr paul and my problems is solved, driving for a month now withvthe T-piece and have no problems anymore...Thank you Mr paul for your good advice

Had my 1800 Golf 1 20 years. It's 32 years old. 300, 000 on the clock. Never had an issue with this, and I redline it everytime I drive it. Guess I'm just lucky.

I was thinking about this. I am going to try the 'creative ' option initially, and will move the fuel Seperator to a cooler place. If this does not improve things a delete will be in order !

I still had to keep mine...it serves as the return line back to the tank and helps reduce pressure into the carburetor.
Do you have a video of a tear down of the pieburg VW golf carburetor?

I think the fuel separator acts to keep fuel closer to the carb for easier starting.

@pj's i have a 1993 mk1 golf carb, my issue is on a slope she sikkels to start could the fual seperator cause this problem ? If not what could be the cause 🤷

Hello sir..i have a 1.4 carb and my problem is the car's idle is fine then all of a sudden it drops and go's up and down but after i rev it over 3x1000 then its good again for a while and when it does that it struggle to start also
