Does nobody check to see if there answer is similar to others or identical? and yet people are still asking? This is the laziest incorrect answer that now everyone has posted to the point is has smothered out any chance for a real answer as to why you cannot turn efficiency mode off.

Settings > System > Multiple Display > Uncheck The 2 boxes
