Elfen Lied came out at a special time in history. It was the early 2000's, and people were sending shock content to each other. You'd pull up something horrific for your friends to look at in the school computer lab, and this anime was one of those things. It was the first time many of us saw an anime girl cut into pieces. It happens with some regularity in the show. It's a really a time capsule. A lot of 30y old weebs will have stories of seeing clips from it when they were very young.

Elfen Lied still makes me cry to this day. It's a story that has it all. Brutal violence, psychopathic murderers, tragic stories, hilariously funny moments, cute intimate moments and more. Fantastic anime, and this song is SO GOOD.

I've never, ever, clicked a video so fast in my life. Elfen Lied was among one of the first anime I ever saw. Its quite heavy, tragic and has one of the most iconic openings of all time.
