Can a cheap trail camera be any good? Are they as good as the more expensive ones? Watch this video.

One thing I've found about several of these cams that I own is that they don't come on at first when replacing the memory card. Remove the card just enough to break connection and re-insert it and the cameras come on.

Ok we got that there’s no model name, call it whatever you want. Call it the cheap skate special if you have to call it something, why spend 20 minutes on it.

I bought one this year, and I think it's better than my Primos easy Cam, the little green square one. Love it and it takes great pictures.

I stopped watching this review about four minutes in because the main gist of the video appears to the lack of a model identifier and the cheapness of the product. Even better, the product does have a model number, which the creator actually shows by accident on the packaging at 3:38. It's model #: 119271CW in case you were really concerned at all about this fact. I have several of these Tasco game cameras from the previous generation. They are cheap so you can afford a lot of them, and they take pictures of deer and other wild game just fine. If you need your game cameras to come with some kind name like "Kodiak" or "Cougar" you might want to splurge for a $200 model from a different brand. If you want to know where the deer are in the woods, these are a great buy.

I’ve accumulated 11 of these cameras since October, and they’re as good as any trail cam I’ve had. I had a couple of them in a creek bottom that flooded and of course they stopped working, so I just left them there. They got submerged several times after that. Last week I decided to try to fix them so I took them apart, let them sit indoors over night, reassembled, put fresh batteries in them, and they worked just like they did when I unboxed them.

Why are you so fixated on the bloody name, it's if it works.

I’ve had these for a while work great but it works great for just seeing what’s around and or what time deer come around for hunting

Next time, skip reading the crap printed on the package and provide some of the more critical data that users want to know, such as (1) how many videos will it take and store on the SD card until it fills up, (2) how does it perform in below freezing weather, (3) how waterproof is it, (4) what is your experience with obtaining warranty repairs or replacement, etc. Your video sounded more like a paid advertisement for Tasco than it did an honest, independent user review. You get a thumbs down from me.

I’ve got the 8mp and the 10mp. Some things to point out. First, although the battery tray holds 8 batteries, it will function just fine on only 4 batteries. Second, in “3 pic” mode, pic #1 will be a standard pic while pics #2 & #3 will be very dark. I thought this was a battery issue but even with 8 brand new batteries the results were the same. So I don’t even bother with the 3 pic mode. Instead I use “1 pic” mode and set the trigger for 5 seconds. This way all of the pics are best quality and I’m still getting a pic every 5 seconds as long as there’s something to trigger the camera. I don’t use the video mode because my cameras are in a high traffic area and avg 85-130 pics every 24 hrs. So video would just drain the batteries prematurely and eat up space on the SD card. Batteries aren’t really a problem if you only have 1 camera. But if you have 2 or more then you start looking for ways to extend battery life. If money is tight then you can split 8 batteries between 2 cameras and still get at least a month from each.

I have 6 of them set up. They work well WHEN they work. Bought 2 online last week.... one is totally inop, lights up but will not take pics, matters not if I use another sd card.

Great camera. I have had wildgame, (junk) primos, huntinoutdoors, and a cuddeback. For the price you cannot go wrong. I put all six of my cameras out in August, all different brands, new batteries, and the only one with more then half of the battery life left was the Tasco, it also took the most pics. Buy a bunch of them!

Camera has been awesome, I have used my first camera for two seasons now and have not had to change the batteries once, pictures are just good enough to know what is going by. Perfect for public land use too.

You do have a very valid point for ranting about the lack of a more descriptive name for the item. Just came across it on a flyer and I am at a loss as to the exactly what the heck it is; so glad I came across your video, and the mystery is solved. Thank you very much Knetters Practical Outdoors.

Good video. Question for you. Have you had any fog up on you? I've noticed condensation on the inside of my door plastic lenses. Just curious if this has happened to you or have heard about anyone else having this issue.

Just got one of these, but I find that the videos it takes always freeze up. They last 10 seconds, but mostly they are just frozen images, with occasional jerky movements between them, kind of like a spring getting stuck and then snapping forward. Am I missing something here? I offload them and play them on my PC HD. Very disappointing.
