Rotel CD11 Tribute single-disc CD player | Crutchfield

The Rotel CD11 Tribute is designed to do a single job, and to do it flawlessly: play your CDs as accurately as possible. With help from legendary audio engineer Ken Ishiwata, Rotel has created a single-CD player that puts out a sound that stands out from the pack.

The key is what's inside the CD11 Tribute. Each component is hand-picked and tuned to deliver engaging, accurate sound. Rotel focuses especially on those components that will most directly affect sound quality. The power supply, circuit path, and capacitors have all been upgraded from the CD11 — which was already a fine player. A 24-bit/192kHz Texas Instruments DAC does the final job of converting the digital music from your CD into analog sound your speakers can reproduce.

I purchased my CD11 Tribute from Crutchfiled a couple of months ago and I love it. Phenomenal sound and build quality. Way better than the 3 year old broken TEAC that it replaced.

holy guacamolie!
crutchfield is finally posting a video about one of their cd players.the pairing with the matching rotel integrated amp is a good one but i would replace the b and w speakers with a pair of klipsch rp 600m's.the klipsch speakers are much easier to drive which are better suited to an amp with only 50 wpc.

I don't understand what you mean when you say 'bring your CD collection back to life'. I've never stopped playing mine!! Bought one of these Tribute players when my Meridian 508 finally died a few months ago. Very nice player. Open sound lovely with soft acoustics, but seemes to muddle complex instrumentation. But for the price it is pretty good.

Anyone know if the Rotel A11 Tribute or Mk II has gapless playback with programmed consecutive tracks? I like to listen to specific parts of CDs and if these programmed sections happen to have tracks that segue into one another without interruption, ie. classical music, gapless playback becomes very important. One way to do a quick test is program a couple of consecutive tracks from a live recording and listen for the sound to break up in the applause between songs. Contacted Rotel a couple of days ago but haven't heard back...

Hello, nice review. Is the player fast at loading the TOC of the CD? A lot of these modern players take ages to read a disc. What about CD-R disc? You don't show loading a disc so we can see the tray operation and see it load a CD.

When is someone going to make a tray loading affordable small compact CD player. This thing is huge! Seems Pro-Ject is the only one to corner that market and there's is a slot loader.

Hi Eric, thanks for your nice vid and infos concerning this Rotel CD player. I'm wondering if the CD 11 Tribute would be a worthful upgrade to my CD 63 KI. It's connected to a Marantz SR4021 via analogue output and Dali Oberon 3 speakers. Would Rotels sound fit to my Marantz receiver and Dali speakers or should I stay with my KI ? Thanks for your info.

I bought a marantz CD5003 from you folks a few years back ( 10 years or so ). It made a big difference in the sound from my Yamaha 5 disk player. I'm wondering if there would be a significant jump in sound if I upgrades to the Rotel ? The Marantz still sounds good. Thanks.

Which would be better sounding, via RCA or coaxial ?
I learnt that Ken has done some changes to the DAC inside - which prompts me to think RCA is better.
Please give some clues - Thanks

CD player sounds amazing but has loads of faults, they are very badly made. Shame because it sounds SO good when it works. Those speakers are awful though, it's a very bad choice to pair with this. They boost the highs so much they actually start clipping. Had mine 2 days and had to just send them back, they were just unlistenable. Completely inaccurate reproduction and ruined a lot of music with the boxy EQ curve. I kept the B&W stands though, they are very nice, shame about the speakers!
