Not sure why my original comment got deleted, but for those still trying to fix the game, the fix is below. Please note that it will delete your current game status. I believe after the last update, the save game files were corrupted.

To get the crashing to stop "The UE4-SCUM Game has crashed" -

1. Search for %appdata% (this will automatically take you to the "Roaming" Folder.
2. Back out of "Roaming" and Press AppData.
3. Double click Local and scroll down to find SCUM.
4. Click into Saved > SaveFiles (delete those).
5. Delete the Crash reports in Crashes.
6. Run normally through Steam (Not Vulkan or DirectX12)

It should work right away.

I tried everything this guy suggested as well as deleting the game and reinstalling. Didn't work until I did the above.

I'm not going through all this to get 1 game to work, hopefully the devs fix it quick because this is a huge problem for them to have and the longer they leave it the worse it will effect them, thanks for the help anyway.

I thought it wasn’t launching and got stuck on the create character screen, then I realised ‘create’ needed to be highlighted…. Clicking directly on it didn’t work I had to click the middle of the screen….. anyone know what’s up with that?
