Synthesia is a game that can help you learn how to play the piano using falling notes.
- How does it work?
Synthesia reads MIDI files and generates the falling note (and sheet music) display from it.

Search for your favorite song name or author and add the word MIDI to the search. Use Google/Yahoo/etc.
- What are the system requirements?
A Windows PC or Mac made in the last 5 years is usually plenty.

Notes about these videos: I did not make these MIDI's, thus I cannot control what color they appear as when they are being played through Synthesia. Most MIDI's are color coded to separate the left hand from the right hand, but some are not.

Regarding requests, it is best if you download the game yourself and look for the MIDI's yourself. It gives the best result as the game is not only free, but also easy to use. Plus, you don't need to wait on me to upload a video of your requested piece.

I found the .midi off of google, and it matched up well with the sheet music. Great rendition. The audio of the .midi file drops for a short portion of the song, I don't know why.

Wow, that was awesome to say I've never heard the song before
I was liking the beginning, but as soon as it got past 0:59, I started to actually feel awesome (it sounds fast, and I like fast music) ^_^

It's a decent way to get started IMO.

Personally, I started off learning how to read sheet music, and then playing pieces that way. I used Synthesia as a visual aid to learning how to play some pieces, but I mainly followed the sheet music.

I used to look up to this midi because it was something I've always wanted to learn but my fingers weren't strong enough. Now I'm 18 and here I am learning it with ease.

Honestly, I think if it weren't under the Chrono name, it would have been received so much better in general. It didn't even do much to deepen the overall story, but taken on its own, it was an amazing game.

@neoseraphus I believe it isn't simply the volume, as in a technical error. I think that it is meant to be like that, and the dynamic is say, piano, if the rest is mezzo forte. It sounds fine, and adds a little more color to the music.

it's the velocity in-which the note is played, i had noticed it in my DAW, i was thinking of fixing it and re-uploading it, but it's a long process just for a couple of notes.

The only way to start off playing any instrument is to have a teacher. If you start alone you will incorporate technical mistakes into your play (for piano: sitting wrong, false positioning of arms and hands, etc.) which you can't see and correct by yourself. You can try and learn everything by yourself of course, but trust me, you will have to put in way more work later to get rid of bad/wrong habits later on.

I thought Chrono Cross was awesome. It wasn't a Chrono Trigger, but it wasn't a completely mediocre game. It was a bit on the easy side, but the game overall impressed me.

Chrono cross was great although it didn't include the characters from chrono trigger and developed a unique gameplay that i felt compared pretty well once you got a little ways into the game
