A "mention" is a tag starting with @ followed by their user name and will notify the person/channel being tagged. It only works in comments when replying to another comment.

Thanks, it's good to confirm that the @ is not working anymore. It's also good trick to mention a channel in comment. I doubt that the channel mentioned would get a notification though.

So here is a thing I've noticed: Let's say I watch a video within my main area of interest, and I think the creator of that video might like my channel. I go ahead and comment, "Hey, great video. You might like my channel. Please have a look."
_Why_ do these comments always get auto deleted?
I'm careful not to post links, so it seems like just the phrase "my channel" gets the comment zapped.
