Drove one last Sunday, the tech on that car is something else, as a countryman owner I think the next gen has definitely moved on, the autonomous driving up to 30 mph was a great experience. Looks like we will end up with our 7th mini

Jim you show other reviewers how to do it. No ‘let’s get into it’ nonsense. No silly ‘ intro’ graphics. Proper English and no faux Caribbean London accent. A sense of enthusiasm and passion. More please!

For those of you complaining about the size, think of MINI as a brand instead of a product. As far as "MINI-ness" is concerned, I think they absolutely 100% knocked it out of the park. It's not mini...it's a MINI.

I'm a guy who has never really liked the Mini, but I saw one of these in the supermarket car park at the weekend and loved it! It really is cool. I may be looking at one of these when I come to change my car.

I drove one in Virginia Beach had gone over a few slow bumps on the road. I didn't expect the jar suspension too tight? Gentle steering wheel handling very easy to make turns. The dashboard looks striking but how does one keep it clean? This was my first experience with the Mini countryman -- quite charming!

Thanks Jim. Very good but a little more info on boot / dropping the rear seats - do they go flat for example. Fitting Child seats - the practical stuff getting in and out the back. Storage. But thanks for your review.

Not a Mini fan but I have to admit that just looks WOW

I love LOVE the big, round screen, but hopefully MINI had the foresight to equip it with a polarizer or some other form of UV protection. Or, hopefully they have deal worked out where you get a free replacement every 1 or 2 years. Sunlight and heat will absolutely destroy an OLED display
