Bond 25 has mixed things up from the usual press conference to mark the start of production but the live reveal left much to be desired...

Bond25 seems to be like brexit: constantly delayed and no one has any idea what is going on.

So true about Naomi Harris. She really stood out in this press conference, never stumbled and stammered or gave a short answer and showed lots of passion and excitement. That in contrast with Craig’s: “many things...” and Lea’s: “I am just excited...to be back...” <awkward pause>. You’re right, she’s such a pro!!

The last time they started shooting without a title was DAD, Pierce Brosnan dryly commented that they were taking suggestions from the audience, so the omens are not looking good.
Eon staged this event to tell us they had no title, no poster, no preview of the sequence they've been shooting in Norway and that they can't give us many plot details but here's twenty minutes of filler and a cast list. All this on a day when everyone on the internet is talking about Avengers: Endgame. Get it together chaps!

Very much a breakfast show. I thought they were going to give traffic and weather as well

Jeffrey Wright returning as Felix Leiter is so long overdue. he's only missed out on 2 Bond films and yet has been away for 11 years (Quantum Of Solace came out in 2008) doing the Hunger Games movies inbetween etc's. Hope he has a huge chunk of subplot in the film to make up for all those missing years. Cheers for the current info Calvin, much appreciated!

I'm happy with the information we got from it but, apart from it being at Goldeneye, the actual event was terrible.

Even SPECTRE - which was notorious for behind the scene script issues - had a really well prepared press conference with a title etc. This reveal was so worrying, it feels like they made this movie up in the last few months. No title yet, relatively last minute addition of Fukinaga as director, and the really last minute casting of Rami (I'm sure he'll be great but still feels like they didn't really plan to cast him and only did so in light of his Oscar win). I just hope they've actually taken the time to craft a good story.

I'm not a big fan of bringing back Seydoux (apologies if i misspelled that, I'm American). I like the idea that with Bond, you can watch the films in any order, or skip films, and they still make sense on their own. If they were going for the continuous story though, I don't know why it had to be Madeline Swan that they brought back, as she's in my opinion one of the blandest Bond girls.

I’m glad we got the cast and location info, but I do wish we got a title. Happy that Jeffrey Wright is back.

The whole movie development is as messy as my life. They had 4 years to come up with something good and now they want to make it all up on the last minutes.

I thought they could do better than that.

Oh

This

This was shocking

I love being told what I already know in a jazzed-up way...

Oh man this entire thing was so awkward. You can really tell that Craig doesn't really like the spotlight, which I can respect completely. I think he's the kind of actor that just appreciates with getting on with the job. I dunno, it sort of feels that this whole reveal was a bit of an obligation on behalf of MGM rather than something the cast really wanted to do. There's so much in the press now about Craig being unbearable to work with?? and that they have no script??? Which sounds like nonsense if i'm honest, and really interesting when you realise that the Daniel Craig era is going to be bookended by the media shitting on him.

At least they chose a time to announce this where there aren't any huge movies coming out to steal their thunder.

In my honest opinion, as this is Daniel Craig’s last Bond film, I hope the writers will make it the best possible way for him to bow out as he’s been a great servant for the series over the last 13 years!

Even the hype is failing to hype me up for this next one. After Spectre, I'm....far more interested in the NEXT next Bond movie.

Cary hasn't worked with one composer multiple times so unlike Mendes who came with Thomas Newman, Eon could bring back David Arnold. Please. #BringBackArnold #NewmanOut #ArnoldForBond25

The only issue I have with the story is that it begins bond retired and on a beach and coming out of retirement. Why? Because we already saw that in skyfall. The idea of that was an older bond being pulled out of retirement

Some people have gotten the impression this may end up being a remake of Dr No. I hope not.

I agree with pretty much everything you said there. When it went into that segment with the presenter walking on the beach I felt like I was watching an episode of one of those 'A Place In The Sun' real estate programmes. Also, I literally facepalmed when she didn't know the DB5 is the old Aston. C'mon, you don't need to speak 'car' to know that! If you're presenting a live reveal of Bond, you'd think she'd be aware of pretty much the most iconic car in Bond and perhaps movie history. Anyway, despite this, I can't deny I enjoyed it and am excited to see what they cook up for Bond's 25th outing. Fingers crossed!
