The Summit of Americas is supposed to be about common interests where the real integration platform is the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States. I hope the US is not turning it into a real political farce promoting US interests and US foreign policy in order to prioritized it above the common interests of the region. Biden says he wants to bring the nations and people of the Americas together, but he ban Venezuela, Cuba and Nicaragua from attending. This has led to a number of countries including Bolivia, Chile, Hondura, Mexico, and most of the Caribbean countries to indicate a desire to boycott the meeting or send lower level representatives. The Ukraine conflict is a proxy war between the US and Russia resulting in inflation all over the world including Latin America and South America. China is currently South America’s top trading partner and the second-largest for Latin America as a whole. So while the US has been ignoring Latin America, complaining about the economics, politics, immigrants, gangs and drugs from these developing countries, China has been pursuing long term trade relations based on investments and humanitarian relief. Whether it’s AUKUS, the QUAD, the meeting of Southeast Asia, the US and Biden has been trying to separate the world based on, you are with us, or against us. We are going to see a very fractured group, much like what happened with ASEAN in Washington, no substantive issues are going to be discussed. No progress is going to be made.

As the reporter try to explain the US "reasons" for not to invite those countries he looks more and more uncomfortable. It's like he's realizing the nonsense of such decision.

The United States loses many countries that could be great allies, but as they are treated with arrogance and contempt, it is a country that points out more problems than solutions for our continent, countries like China occupy this vacuum. Most of Latin America is not even an ally of China, but it is already our main trading partner and it will only increase. Here in Brazil, we have the perception that the priority for the United States is not the continent itself, but the Europeans, Russia and China, and that is why American leadership is declining in the region.

First thing I do to start my day is pour a hot cup of coffee and watch my daily kimgary video. It helps me to appreciate the sacrifices endured by my governmental leaders and the femmes of the View to bring Me meaningful elucidation.

August 2017 – UNICEF is extremely concerned about an appalling increase in the cruel and calculated use of children, especially girls, as ‘human bombs’ in northeast Nigeria. Children have been used repeatedly in this way over the last few years and so far this year, the number of children used is already four times higher than it was for all of last year.

Since 1 January 2017, 83 children have been used as ‘human bombs’; 55 were girls, most often under 15 years old; 27 were boys, and one was a baby strapped to a girl.

The use of children in this way is an atrocity.

Children used as ‘human bombs’ are, above all, victims, not perpetrators.

The armed group commonly known as Boko Haram has sometimes, but not always, claimed responsibility for these attacks, which target the civilian population.

I hope the secret service has available a list of empty garages on the rout to the Summit of the Americas, just in case they should decide to take cover to overt contact with any Republicans.
