Seeing that $11.17 was what was charged to the card. The likelihood is that she brought cash thinking it would be cheaper than it actually was, but seeing as it ended up being $35, she probably paid with the cash she had and paid the rest with her card.

Either that, or she's just telling a story that happened at a different time.
