this edition is only build just over 6 mnd and only produced about 400 times

This V70 R phase 3 is a 1999 model the phase 3 is produced from end of 1999 up to the middle of 2000
the phase 3 had a different engine then the model before it had a 2435cc 5 cilinder turbo engine that produced 265hp and 350nm of torque
the phase 1 and 2 had a 2.3 ltr 5 cilinder and produced 240 and 250 hp. al models had a turbo upgrade
phase 3 is delivered with an aisin warner transmission
a 5 speed automatic the other phases where also availible in manual

the first gen v70 is produced from 1996 up to 2000 and the R model is the top of the line and is OEM delivered with AWD

I have a 2000 V70R. It has a lot of problems, but I still really love it and I will take care of them. I think the head gasket's blown, so I'm not driving it. The transmission slips, if it gets really bad I might look into doing a manual swap. The AWD doesn't work. And there are other numerous problems, but I do love it still, I've only had it for a few months.

The 99 model didn't have dual exhaust, it had a delete plate on the right side. 2000 was the year with dual outlets.

We owned the actual 1999 Tokyo Motor Show car for a few years here in OZ. Loved it... but geez it was hard to keep up with all the maintenance!!

Our first Volvo estate was an 850. Really liked the 850, it seemed like a real Volvo. Our next car was the first variant of the V70. It was nice but really never felt quite the same as the 850. We now drive an XC90, we tow so is an ideal vehicle. BUT always wanted an 850t5R.

Though these are obviously now 'Holy Grail' classic versions - I just can't justify the prices given the 5 speed auto box weaknesses and the AWD problems. The 2.4 engine though always sounded better than the B5234T3 and I have an early FWD R with that engine fitted. I also have a 1999 V70 2.4T with a B5254T in it and that sounds much better and is no slower....

Nice Video, Iknow the car will be sold now but Heico are a bit like Carlsson for Mercedes, Hirsch for SAAB or Irmscher for Opel. They ptoduce bespoke and highly developed tuning parts only for Volvo & have run Volvo touring cars etc since the 70's. Not quite in house like AMG/M-Division/Quattro GMBH or own Chassis No's like Alpina but much more focused than a multi vendor tuner and a lot of their products do not affect your warranty.

those rims are not original to this model. That rim style was introduced on the 2nd gen R and the rims pictured are actually the IPD reproduction rims. Beautiful car tho
