Install Ventoy | Easy Multi-Boot USB Software

Ventoy is insanely helpful. All my pen drives are Ventoy drives for a long time.

I love Ventoy and regularly run it even for VMs in VirtualBox and Proxmox VE.

I will say, your thumbnail is slightly misleading with the Apple logo. Ventoy will not run on the newest of Macs. For old x86-64 Macs, Ventoy can be a great tool to help breathe new life in an old machine.

What about ventoy for installing windows 11 on 'unapproved' PC?

I installed mine on a 1TB SSD mounted in a USB C 3.2 enclosure and made my data drive bootable with Fatdog64, so I have my data and if my main system won't boot I instead boot Fatdog64 and then have full read/write access to all my data. Using ventoy in this way to install Fatdog64 as a server I can make bootable ISO backups of the system that can be used to restore the system by saving it back to Ventoy and booting off the new ISO file.

I use ventoy on a nvme usb-c drive. Super fast. Install on harddrive supported but harder. How to on ventoy site. Love it ❤

Are there tools to compress the images or blend multiple similar distributions into one? For example, if I want multiple flavors of Manjaro, the core files will be the same - just different DEs. An AIO disk (just like the compressed ones of Windows that just stores different configurations on the same core) would be way more useful and even more OSes can fit on a USB drive.

Ventoy doesn't work on Distro or ISOs that need to write to the usb drive during usage. Which might cause problems for some Recovery, WINPE tools.

My question is I work with multiple computers some using EFI only, sone using Legacy/EFI combo while the older systems use only Legacy booting. How would Ventoy handle being plugged into a system that does only EFI booting and then being plugged into a 10-15 year old dell system that only supports legacy booting?

Does Ventoy allow you to choose which BIOS you want your OS to run on (maybe Legacy or UEFi) ???
please reply i need to know because some laptops are very sensitive (especially mine) !!!

I have a proven bootable UEFI USB that automatically boots on my laptop when boot priority in the ""BIOS" is set as 1 st priority : USB. However when I try on my desktop, it seems to ignore boot priority. It will however boot from DVD automatically if set in priority . But will not automatically boot from restart from same USB. However, it will appear when selecting from manual Boot Menu (F12) .Secure Boot is disabled. 1st priority boot: Removable device (does not mention USB). Thanks
