Xiaomi, best known for their range of smartphones, have broken into the action camera market with the Xiaomi Yi - and its caused quite a stir! Hitting the budget camera market, could the Yi be one of the better budget cameras out there?

very satisfied with this camera. the update is an improvement. it is possible tot film in 2K with 30 FR/s. although when you want to shoot your extreme sport activity with very high framerates and you want also more manual handling then i would consider a GP.4. Night timelapsess and long nightshots are also not possible. Otherwise this is a very good deal.

Thanks for another great review Ifti. I have a Xiaomi Battery Backup unit which is great and guess what, the instructions that came with it were in Chinese and no copies of the manual in English were available either on their site or anywhere. Not good marketing in my view. The problem with the App that you experienced would be a deal breaker if I was in the market to buy one (I'm more than happy with my 2 SJCAM 4000's). I like the idea that they don't include mounts with the camera as it should keep the basic price down. Ashame that a very good product is let down by its supporting App.

I couldn't find app on play store. I downloaded from apk. It had a horrible experience connection gets cut frequently eventually I returned the camera. Don't buy this camera unless you comes with an play store or apple ios

it has LCD 3rd party, two models for LCD for Xiaomi yi -Gearbest -Dealsextreme.
Xiaomi yi is better than Gopro Silver . i've been compering the two action camera. all i can say the yi has a better capture than gopro Silver.
