I was surprise that a few Mexicans don’t like making Chiles rellenos with the tomato sauce lol, my parents are from Guanajuato and my husband is from Sinaloa, both of us grew up pairing Chiles rellenos with the sauce 🤗☺️ the Fried chile relleno would be cooked in the sauce .

My mother makes the BEST sauce to go along with the chile rellenos. Boil 5-7 serranos then blend with sour cream or crema mexicana and add salt. It’s amazing.. creamy, simple and spicy.

My mom adds picadillo. That’s ground beef with cubed potatoes and Mexican white cheese.

In India we make it with chickpeas flour and we call them mirchi bajji love from India 🇮🇳

Try putting the hot oil over it before u flip it it will help the egg not spread so fast plus it helps when u flip it over it wont splat the egg to the sides

I sometimes char mine in the oven on broil. Also, I find it easier to cut and clean out first then char. That way seeds dont stick to everything

We fry them in a batter bc we don't like the egg batter one time I made them inside pastellio dough I was in fuckking love. SO GOOD.

Gringo here. Chile rellenos are my favorite to order at any given Mexican place. I had some poblanos in the fridge along with some leftover queso from Moe’s (I KNOW don’t @me 😂) and thought I could just riff and make it without looking up any recipe.

The batter (which turned out a lot more like pancake batter) was burnt, the pepper was still crunchy, and the cheese (DIP, mind you) was barely melted 😂

With help from your video I’ll try to get it right next time!

I am also Mexican we make it exactly like that but we put carne in are Chile poblanos and mosarela cheese and that’s all that’s different from are Chile rellenos

You make it look so easy. Last time I tried to make these I roasted the chilies too long and they fell apart when I started to peel them. That was 10 years ago. Because of you I'll try again, or you could come over and make them for me!!
