THE TRUTH ABOUT SKIN TEXTURE - YOU'VE BEEN LIED TO

Have you got skin texture or enlarged pores? Do you think influencers & celebs don't? You're wrong.
Thank you so Scentbird for sponsoring today's video! This month I received...

When are we going to stop making human beings feel bad for looking like human beings?! Seriously! It's 'ok' to have skin texture on your arms, your legs and your feet - but you should definitely NOT have any on the skin on your face! Good grief woman! Your face skin should look like glass! WTF GUYS!!! Why are we like this! Literally every single person on the PLANET has skin texture. Whether their pores are enlarged or small, whether they have fine lines or wrinkles when they smile - no one's skin is actually airbrushed in real life. No influencer or celebrity ACTUALLY looks like they do in edited pictures. If you have skin texture, you DON'T need to get rid of it, and you don't need to feel bad about it. It's society's attitude to beauty that needs to change - not you.

when i met ariana i remember being taken back by how normal she looked in person. like still drop dead gorgeous but with textured skin and her eyeliner wasn’t exactly identical. it was really nice to see

i used to wear foundation and be annoyed at how it didn't cover my skin texture, so i stopped wearing it. honestly skin looks so much nicer without foundatin because i think foundation highlights the texture even more

Tell me why Angelina Jolie’s unedited photo with real skin texture was even more beautiful than the photoshopped one 😭

I feel bad for the young girls growing up in a fictional society. I was a teen in the age of magazines, and that was bad enough with airbrushing, but social media has taken it to a whole other level. It's a sad state of affairs. I wish there were many more influencers like yourself who are honest and real. Love your guts 💗

Honestly, as a former makeup artist, I get so frustrated trying to explain to my girlfriends that IRL skin CANNOT look instagram perfect. I have had women tell me I’m just watching the “wrong videos”. Regular working class women like me, who truly believe pores can just be erased with foundation! What a ridiculous standard! The reality is, IMHO, real skin is more beautiful anyway. I think the fine lines add character and depth, to women who are working every day as moms, friends, wives, daughters. The trials of life show on our faces and thats wonderful! We should not hide from this fact! Even knowing the poreless look is a big lie, I fall into the trap of comparison. We have to hold each other by continuing to acknowledge this. ❤️

I honestly look at my skin texture and can’t even stand to take a selfie anymore so thank you for this

This is exactly what I needed someone to say to me growing up with severe acne. When I was upset people would just say something like "you don't have THAT many spots.. "
I was DESPERATE for someone to say yes, you do have acne, but you are beautiful and your skin does not detract from your beauty

You are doing young girls an amazing service by making videos like this. As a 14 year old this would have saved me years of self loathing

I used to think I looked so ugly when I wear foundation because I didn't understand why my skin texture was visible while everyone else's wasn't. I rarely wear foundation anymore because I don't like to wear it. I prefer to let my skin breathe. I appreciate these videos.

I have been so insecure lately about my skin texture. I am in my 30s but suffer from body dysmorphia and have had 3 major plastic surgeries and none of it has helped me. I have had my nose, chin, and boobs done. Now I obsess over my teeth (I wear dentures and have implants due to past drug addiction) and long philthrum.

I deleted all of my social media except for YouTube. I binged all of your videos over the past few days and they have helped me more than my therapist has. Thank you so much!

I went through a phase a few years ago where i was trying my best to find out how other women's makeup looks so perfect. Tried so many "pore perfectors", primers, etc and none of them did a damn thing. Turns out it was airbrushing I was trying to achieve 😅🤣

I went to high school in the 2010s and remember telling my boyfriend at the time how I wanted to get all these surgeries and procedures to “fix” and “change” me. In 2018, I had lip filler and hated it. Some of the things I once hated about myself are now features my baby has, and I love them on him. 👶🏻💙 Maybe being a mama has changed all that. Additionally, I had great support in my boyfriend (now husband) who would not only give me compliments, but made me believe in myself more, and helped me to become a better version of myself. 👨‍👩‍👦

P.s. If you haven’t heard this today, from a mama to you: 💞
1. “You’re like, really pretty.”
2. “You is kind, you is smart, you is important.”
3. “You’re doing amazing, sweetie!”
4. I’m so proud of you.
5. And, I love you.

One of my exes loved acne and scars on my face, he said" these type of girls look badasses, their skin shows like they have gone through alot and it's deep and beautiful"

I remember years ago, when I just got into doing makeup, I used to feel so let down and sad when I apply foundation, and I would still be able to see my acne bumps, I always felt like I was doing it wrong because compared to makeup up online, it's even crazier when you follow a tutorial step by step and you don't get the airbrushed skin result. Now I know better and I'm grateful for videos like this so younger girls can look up to reality not perfection❤

Thank you for being real! I refuse to use filters on my phone, fb or instagram. I hate how fake the world has become!

As a time acne sufferer (pretty much my whole life and I’m 41 now) this is one of my favorite videos. I have such a hard time with seeing super duper perfect skin all the time. It really affects my self esteem 😞

As someone who has what's considered great skin with only a bit of dryness during winter, I can tell you that genetics are responsible for 99% of the way your skin looks like. Don't waste money on expensive products, instead save to go to a dermatologist who can actually help you with invasive treatments.

Every time ppl ask what I use to have such great skin I say "nothing", I just wash w water & use moisturiser. Girls w clean skin usually will tell u to buy this or that to have great skin like them, truth is, is only genetics, I forget to even put on moisturiser most days as a busy mom of 2 n my skin is still clean. So pls don't believe any ad.

i want to just thank you so much for this video! I live currently in Korea and they have very high standards for ‘Glass skin’ so it made me feel bad for having just human skin and this video really cheered me up! Thank you so much
