The Limits of Age and Exercise (Control What You Can Control)

“I feel like I’m moving better than I did in my 20s and 30s!”

Want to know what led to my client saying this?

In this video I’ll go over not only the workout adjustments but also nutritional changes we made to help her feel her most fabulous.

Because we need to stop just blaming our age and ACCEPTING pain!

WHen you shift your focus to control what you can control you start to change the real limits of age and exercise!

The simple fact is…you can’t change your age. You can’t stop getting older.
And yes, there are changes to our body as we get older.

But so often we just write off those changes as out of our control when so often there are lifestyle factors we can CHANGE that do have an impact.
Yes, as we get older, our recovery times change.

Aches and pains have had more time to accumulate…especially as often we haven’t truly taken care to rebuild from previous injuries.

Even the hormonal changes of perimenopause and menopause can lead to increased inflammation making our joints achier.

But through adjustments to our training and nutrition, we can reduce the aches and pains and even feel like we move better than ever!

That’s why in this video I want to go over controlling what you can control and adjusting your lifestyle to move your best at any age!

Im a 60 year old guy, who spent 11 years on home dialysis. 5 years transplanted and had a nephrectomy on both sides. It also caused pre-diabetes. I had a back issue and mild Arthritis from 30+ years military service. My back Was sorted through Laser and massage treatment. I turned my diet on it's head. Dropped sugars, went Paleo with 16/8 fasting periode. I lost weight, belly fat, , msn voobs and love handles. I can now run again. I am in the Gym 4 x a week and slowly building back those muscles that wasted away. I feel awesome again.

I'm 53 and started having heart issues because of my weight. Fell into that "eat carbs - gain weight" trap and totally cut out carbs, which made my health worse. My kids gifted me the Aspect Health sensor, and I've been tracking my health there. Thanks to that and some sport excercises, the strain on my heart has decreased and I've dropped 4 lbs.

I'm 74 and I teach qigong. I have less pain in my body now than I've ever had. This is the benefit of daily practice. I really appreciate your approach and that you talk about feeling each rep, each movement. This is rare because most people just move automatically.

I'm 38 and I've just started to go back to the gym after years of severe back pain, I had several injuries I ignored in my late 20s. The last 3 years I gave up and thought I had to accept my back is trashed and I have to live like an 80 year old. Now I'm finally getting physiotherapy and it was ridiculously easy to get rid of the pain and my back isn't nearly as damaged as I thought. I was 100% sure nothing can improve after age 35 so this feels like a miracle to me 😂

So great. My wife and I are lifelong athlete/artists, professional ballet dancers for decades, and she a gymnast and I am also a martial artist. Working out after 45 has to be intentional and one has to evaluate every movement. Well said. I have had to slow down my workouts, make so many adjustments, and take more rest days. I also carry a jug of water all day to see how much I drink. Bravo, well said, and I only listen to trainers with guns like yours.

The secret is to move. Do what you want but move. I'm 71 and when i have to stop it's not long before i begin to see problems arrived. I do rowing it makes 84 % of my muscle working and I'm alternating with kettlebells exercices.

I'm 70 and now at the gym I spend more time stretching and loosening things up. Then I do high rep, low weights and stuff. And yes things like joints and stuff will hurt or get hurt. I try to be happy that I can still do what I can. Blessings, Bill

I need to remember I am nearly 70 and not the high school and collegiate athlete or even that 63 year old nationally competitive archer I was. I am now 4 days into a fairly minor upper back (Lats!) that happened because I did too much and also added an exercise to my routine I should not have attempted as I have torn both rotator cuffs (one 3 years ago and the other- the currently injured side, 35 years ago). Thanks for all you do on these videos - very good advice and oh so helpful.

Get tips. At 54 I see more and more the impact that nutrition and exercise make. They are a pair and you can’t separate them. I am glad I found your site several years ago. You continue to provide me with helpful insights to succeed. Thanks.

AWESOME I love this message so much thank you ❤️❤️ keep spreading the message of age shouldn't stop us from having strong beautiful lean bodies 🙏🏻❤️
I grew up around adults who said you're supposed to become fat unhealthy messed up full of pain when you get older, , imagine being a little kid being told by grown-ups "you're going to be miserable fat slow you're not even going to be able to bend down and touch your toes when you get older, you're going to be in pain all the time it's going to suck" HOW TRAUMATIZING IS THAT TO SAY TO A CHILD!!! But the real answer was, the adults I grew up with were just lazy and loved eating giant portions of food

I turn 70 next April. I'm still able to make gains in the gym though my cycling speed/endurance has decreased. I find that especially for weight training I need 2 days recovery before the next workout. You speak the truth my friend. Thanks.
