Thanks for posting these videos. Seeing that EarthWatch intro at 9:34 brings back a lot of memories. The Weather Network used to have a lot more character and different flavours back then. Now it's same old same old all the time And I remember them sending Lila Feng and Gary Ryan to Atlanta to report from the Olympics. Nowadays it seems we're lucky the odd time they send a reporter outside of Southern Ontario/GTA to report on something.

I didn't start getting MétéoMedia until 2001 so it's Interesting to see them using a virtual studio for their evening show at the same time as TWN doing EarthWatch. I wonder if this was because TWN was already making use of the anchor desk at the same time even though I always thought they had more than one anchor desk in that newsroom.

The EarthWatch opening in 9:35 was peaceful.😌

In all honesty, the guys behind the scenes at TWN today should take a good look back at this era and bring back this sort of production style. Earthwatch had amazing production for its time, without ever taking blatant sensational approach that they go for today.

Note how similar the earth watch and entre temps music is. Specially composed way back before any other music was?

These clips sure do bring back a lot of memories for me. I do agree with some of the commenters that TWN & MM were fun to watch back then and see the new segments on the last Monday of March (first Monday of April for MM) and the first Monday of December but now it's pretty much the same thing year-round other than checking the forecasts for the day. Would be nice to see them go back to their roots or better yet launch a classic channel or post these on their websites via the archives (full clips would be nice!)

Unlike these guys that got MeteoMedia later on I actually got it right around the get go since Moncton carries it where I live.

Also, RIP to Michelle - 50 years old was too soon for her to go. She and Isabelle were a great weekend morning team during the latter half of the 90s on MM.

I agree with KgnK1 here The Weather Network is used to be so cool to watch i used to love getting up at 6:00 am last Monday of March and first Monday of December to watch the new segments for the spring and winter programming but now it feels like it's the same stuff going on in a loop ALL day long commercial block is 2 1/2 to 3 minutes which in my opinion is unacceptable the Local Forecast is now up to 3 minutes these days which is too long in my opinion as well that leaves 40% of the hour dedicated to forecasts and segments IF that (if i forgot to include their reality programming Unearthed, Daily Planet, Angry Planet etc. which also in my opinion ALL need to go) takes away the time for the more than needed forecasting I miss the segments such as Highway Conditions, Ski Conditions as actual segments not putting them on the local forecast makes the forecast like i said unnecessarily long but i also miss segments like Travelers Forecast, International Forecast, Weather News and all of the former programming blocks like Earth Watch, Sea to Sea Across Canada Morning and Weekend Report made the TWN fun to watch

I agree with how KgnK1 said about the Atlanta Summer Olympics how Lila Feng and Gary Ryan were reporting once a hour there gives it a nice refresher but now like you say we're darn to have a major event outside of Ontario covered like they did with this one here like with the Pan Am Games here in Toronto and Hamilton every 20 minutes we're talking about it it gets repetitive and it's kinda annoying even though I am from Southern Ontario

PS I think the MeteoMedia's Virtual Studio is quite cool i actually like it i wouldn't know all though didn't get MM until 2003 I was only 2 and a half months old when this clip originally aired

Finally, i would like to say to TWN go back to what made you used to be good focusing strictly on the WEATHER not reality programming or commercials/sticking the same material on a loop-de-loop that's not YOU bring back more character and more flavors because I miss that
