Inside Story - G20 summit: Is Putin being frozen out?

The G20 summit was not about Ukraine, it was about global economy. It was really pathetic to see the leaders of Anglophone countries insult the Russian president. Russia is right in annexing the Russian majority provinces of Ukraine. The Southeastern provinces of Ukraine have an ethnic Russian majority, so logically they should have be given to Russia after 1991 dissolution of USSR. It is strange that the "educated" Western leaders do not understand this. What should have happened in 1991, has happened this year, so what is wrong about it ? The current Ukrainian leadership is Russo-phobic, hence Vladimir Putin being the custodians of Russians has the legitimate right in annexing Ukraine's Russian majority provinces. I would have done the same in his place. Why should "Russian majority" provinces stay in Ukraine, if we accept the concept of nation states? The Southeastern provinces have rebelled against the West backed Poroshenko govt. because he is racist and does not want Russians in his country. The West won't succeed in its Anti-Putin hate campaign. If NATO has the audacity, then they should militarily confront Russia. I challenge the heads of UK, USA, Australia, Canada minus Quebec and New Zealand to militarily confront the Russian regime under Putin.

What China agreed to is merely the 'aspiration' that its emissions will peak in 2030. China's emissions are projected to double from 10Gt now to 20Gt in 2030; by comparison, the US's emissions are expected to be less than 4Gt by 2030.

Its illuminating how the left are fawning over this so-called 'climate agreement' where in reality neither China nor the US will actually do anything other than Business As Usual.

Putin understands that it's all just theater... and he doesn't care. He does care about being isolated internationally/not being respected, and he has said that many times. And he doesn't particularly like the sanctions and the state of his country's economy either. He does however have territory to balance it out... It's actions, only hard facts that matter here. We'll see how it develops.
