The biggest problem with this series was the MC is the gag that would not stop being repetitive in running himself into the ground by not making choices

Its revealed later why the gods of this world are going above and beyond to dote on this boy... his parents "died in an accident" cue image of car and truck. He was very very small. Grew up without them died to fatal stabbing... wakes here... these gods dote on him... turns out theyd summoned his parents... yeah. Gave him every blessing they could at maximum strength. He a demigod in this scene now.

For those who say "this protagonist is blander than a cardboard paste smoothie", here's something to consider: the purpose of an isekai is to a) indulge in an escapist power fantasy for the creator, sure, but also to b) showcase the worldbuilding and civilizations inside that fantasy. The setting is as much a player in these stories as the main character, and oftentimes more developed, and that's to have something for the characters to be measured against, and have conflict with, throughout the story. How two sets of 'common sense' overlap or obstruct each other, how the protag is stronger/smarter/more skilled than everyone else, such things are meaningless unless you can establish a standard by which the outliers of the MC can be compared to. And if done well enough, the audience may start to imagine themselves in the same world, even the same scenarios: "I would have done such-and-such" "Why don't they just kill off So-and-so", and so on. At that point, the main character just gets in the way, so them being boring alleviates that particular problem.
