Here's a "what if" that crossed my mind that I honestly like a lot.

Rather then Toothless meeting the light fury that becomes his mate, instead he meets a male light fury and becomes friends with this male light fury, then the male light fury takes him to the hidden world where he meets the light furys sister and then that's how he gets a female light fury mate.

Something I always thought was a cool theory was what if instead of the sentinel dragons guarding the final resting place in RTTE it was night fury’s? Also if I’m remembering correctly there wasn’t a night fury den on that island as a resting place (but I might just be misremembering)
