They really did blu dirty in this movie. They made him the butt of jokes, turned everyone against him for absolutely no reason, and made him seem like he was wrong despite sacrificing his own wants and needs for his family, blu was never selfish. He was selfless.

I hate it when people say that to people who are actually selfless and it makes said person feel so bad making them think about past events trying to fit that image

This is what made the movie feel so off to me especially when I watched it for the first time. Everyone (except Linda and Tulio) mistreated Blu and disregarded his thoughts and feelings and even in the end Blu even felt like everything he did was wrong even though he obviously has extreme anxiety, and fears change. Even then, he still did everything he could to satisfy his family and make them happy even though he was miserable throughout the entire movie. At the end, Blu is the one who deserves an apology and extreme thanks for motivating the entire tribe to fight off the people deforesting their home

He sacrificed his comfort, his partner and guardian of years, and risked his life to save her and make her happy. And what did he get? He got children who dont acknowledge him as much as their mother, a father in law who didnt respect him or see him as a competent macaw for a long time, friends who just tell him to go along to get along and 'go with the flow' even if it makes him ultimately unhappy or uncomfortable, being the butt of almost every joke and a wife who calls him selfish for it all.
He was always the victim.

Blu abandoned the life he had, moved to Brazil, almost died, abandoned Linda. After all that he moved to the Amazon, only to be bullied and have to get used to nasty bugs. Everything to be with her. she is very ungrateful

I love jewel and all but..
When she said that was when I started hating her, Blue did EVERYTHING for her, putting down his own pride to move to the Amazon leaving HIS home, jumping out of a plane when he couldn't even fly and a lot more that I could name.
But what she does is call him selfish, when first she doesn't think of anything but herself, she would've been dead if it wasn't for blu, AND how close she was with Roberto and his flirty, she wasn't putting any boundaries between him and her! Jewel lost my respect man

Jewel whos husband literally changed his whole life to make her happy! Deaking with her family who hates him. With her best friend openly flirting with her. He just sits there taking it, just to make her happy.

Bro literally jumped out of a plane for her life knowing he couldn't fly, tried to connect with the wild, tried to do everything he was told by her father, chased the smugglers in an active parade, choosed to stay and live a life with her instead of going back to the life he once had, and he even protected a blue spix macaw trib that he wasn't even from, tries to be a great father, and was left out of most of everything that he didn't understand. And heck he even went to damn rio to save his kind when they were in the amazons! How would he be selfish/ thinking about himself? If i was blu i would have went back to rio and left them behind so she could prove her point, because if he was called selfish, how about he actually be's selfish for once and she how everyone else thinks?
