I used another device with a 100w solar charger during an 18hr power outage to charge my laptop keeping me working for half a day. A 100w minimum is a must have solar charger to maintain a power bank for most usage and keep you safe. This MaxOak has twice the ports as my current power bank, . The older goal zero is based on a SLA (Sealed Lead Acid) battery. The Bluetti (not blue-yetti :) ) is based on lithium battery. That's the reason for the significant weight difference. Also, you mention a toaster twice. Clearly you didn't test this as it WOULD NOT WORK. A toaster draws far too much power. This bluetti can only provide 300w (about 400 to 450w surge).

What makes the Goal Zero Yeti 400 a better choice is the availability of a common Lead Acid Battery obtainable locally at many different battery stores. These Lithium battery packs are attractive but when you do need a battery where do you get a replacement? I have replaced my goal zero batteries before with no issue. i have both the Yeti 150 and the Yeti 400. Thanks for the great review!

Im planning operations in a remote area, to document an ongoing project. I need something like this to keep my batteries charged. How many batteries will it charge? How long will a battery charge for? This information would be more useful, rather than panicking about 'what if'.

What type of plug do you need to connect your 100w solar panel to this MAXOAK Power Station? Very timely content. I just order one, for a total of $150 off seems like a pretty good deal. I know by the time this Corona Virus thing is past most people will be back to business as usual. We are not too bad on preparation for situations like this but this one has been kind of funny, who knew toilet paper would be the thing to sell out.
