Social scientists and prominent activists were detained in a protest at Delhi, demanding an immediate ceasefire for Palestine.
The march, which started from Khan Market, was stopped by police as it headed towards the Israeli Embassy.
Cops halted the protest near Dr APJ Abdul Kalam crossing and detained the protesters, among whom were developmental economist John Dreze and CPI leader Annie Raja.
The protesters had staged silent demonstrations in solidarity with the people of Palestine, urging the Indian government to immediately end all ties with Israel. view full report.
