Why Do Intellectuals Love Socialism? [What Would Hayek Say?]

Intellectuals – the chattering classes of academia, journalists, commentators, artists, etc. – are drawn to socialism like moths to a flame. Why?

Following up on the previous week’s video on “Pundits’ Poor Predictions”, this week’s “What Would Hayek Say?” looks at Hayek’s thoughts on intellectuals (the broader category to which pundits belong), who they are and what defines them as a class. A deeper understanding of what it is that they do and how they think will help you understand why it is that socialism, with all of its utopian promises, is such an attractive ideology to them.

I am loving this video series! Congratulations for the content and for bringing these provoking thoughts to the arena.
It s a pitty I cant share it the way I wanted since most of the people I know take the extreme-left position and just dont listen or take the effort to critically think. :(
But I feel lucky for having the opportunity to follow Hayke's and other Austrian economists ideas. :)
Best luck with the channel!

Thank you for this video. If only people could get out of their own echo chambers and participate in true discourse
