PUTIN WINS
Vladimir Putin has won Russia's Presidential Election, but that result surprised absolutely no-one. Russians took to the polls at the weekend to vote for their next president and this morning, Vladimir Putin claimed victory. The same guy who's been running the country for decades now. Almost 90% of the votes counted went to him. Russia's President says it's a sign people want unity and while Putin certainly does have a lot of fans inside of Russia, outside of Russia countries like The U-S, Germany and the U-K say the vote was neither free nor fair.

Putin's been accused of stopping his political opponents from running or even throwing them in jail and over the years he's helped to change Russia's constitution to allow him to stay in power for longer. In Russia, a silent protest called "Noon Against Putin" encouraged Russians who aren't happy with Putin to vote at noon and to vote for anyone else other than him. But as for now, Vladimir Putin's set to be Russia's leader for another 6 years.

ICELAND VOLCANO
A volcano on Iceland's Reykjanes Peninsula has erupted, again. For the fourth time in less than three months, southwest Iceland's skyline has been lit up by loads of lava. It's meant many locals have had to evacuate, with experts saying these repeated eruptions are the result of a magma build-up underground.

CRICKET
The Royal Challengers Bangalore did it in style, defeating the Delhi Capitals in the final by 8 wickets to claim the Women's Premier League Title. Aussies Sophie Molineux and Ellyse Perry were absolutely incredible. Molineux starred with the ball, taking three wickets in a single over. While Perry made 35 not out and finished as the tournament's leading scorer.

WNBL
The Southside Flyers are WNBL champions. They defeated Perth Lynx 115 to 81  in game three of the grand final series to clinch the win. They did it comfortably and all-time great, Lauren Jackson, chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds. It's the 42 year old's sixth WNBL championship and first since 2010.

MOGUL SKIING
To Italy, where Aussie Olympic champion Jakara Anthony has claimed her 14th World Cup moguls win of the season. She's smashing it this year, recording seven wins in each of the dual and singles formats.

ST PATRICK'S DAY
People in many parts of the world have been celebrating St Patrick's Day, which can only mean one thing -green green and more green. In Dublin in Ireland more than half a million spectators watched on as the annual St Patty's parade took place. St Patrick's day is a celebration of Irish Culture, as well as commemorating the death of Patrick, the patron saint of Ireland. There's music, dancing, plenty of green and of course parades. This years parade in Dublin was the biggest they've ever had.

The St Patrick's Day celebrations continued in the US with another Parade in New York. Meanwhile the US President hosted a brunch at the white house with none other than Ireland's Prime Minister. The White House fountain was also lit up in Green for the occasion. And staying in the US, over in Chicago, the river was dyed to be a vibrant shade of green. It's a tradition that dates back to 1962, and don't worry the dye is apparently environmentally friendly and does not harm wildlife.
