Blossom Dearie 'Sweet Georgie Fame' with Karin Krog

Blossom Dearie introduced by Karin Krog, singing 'Sweet Georgie Fame', her tribute to the musician. Tony Bennett covered the song in 1968, the year after Blossom's original. Filmed in 1972 by Norweigian TV for a Karin Krog & Blossom Dearie special.

The full programme is 18 minutes; I've blurred out the NRK logo for cosmetic reasons - but they should be commended as an example of a great public service broadcaster. Blossom was a regular on BBC TV in the UK, but I don't see any of that footage appearing anywhere.

Check out Karin Krog! Norway's finest jazz and contemporary blues singer, known throughout Europe and beyond.

Much more about Blossom Dearie at her official website and Wikipedia, etc:

Was completely unaware of this song . Came from an Emily Remler arrangement. Thanks for this . 🌹

Blossom was among the hundreds of classic jazz artists who introduced me to the genre decades ago, but she is only one of around ten whom I have stuck with. That voice is 100 percent unique even among the uniques--not Christy, not Astrud, certainly not a belter like so many others--and her keyboard brilliance is her best kept secret. She was the real deal.

I'm 50 years late, but I had no idea they did this together. Magic.
