PACS vs DICOM

This is an introduction video to PACS and DICOM. In this this video, I briefly explain the difference between PACS vs DICOM, two terms that are very important to understand in you are interested in becoming a PACS Administrator. PACS (Picture Archiving Communications System) is an image management system that acquires, stores, forwards, and manipulates medical images (or DICOM images). While DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) is a standard form of communication for transferring, acquiring, and storing medical images between different medical systems.

Torrell, I can't thank you enough. If you recall, I landed my dream job as an IT Consultant after taking your course in 2019 and purchasing the hl7 book you mentioned in another video. Sadly, covid hit in 2020, and my contract ended abruptly. The last few years, I have been doing payer system testing and config with health plans. Its okay but not as rewarding to me as working with RIS/PACs and EMRs. I am now diving back into your videos and course in an effort to brush up and get back to doing what I love.

Hi Sir, I want to make a DICOM setup where images are transferred and stored in another computer where they can be reviewed from the workstation. The workstation is Fujifilm, what will be the AE Title of the said storage computer? Do recommend any free or cheap platform that's possible to achieve this.

Hi I’m having trouble sending images from my vivid E95 to Dicom storage. Every time I try to “copy” image over it tells me to “free up space on drive E”....how do I do that??
