Korean Air has completed its acquisition of Asiana Airlines following about 4 years of negotiations.
The company announced on Thursday that Asiana had officially become a Korean Air subsidiary after it finished paying for the shares on Wednesday.
As a result, Air Busan and Air Seoul, which were subsidiaries of Asiana, are also now part of Korean Air.
The carrier plans to complete the integration process by 2026 and stated there will be no forced cutbacks.
Details on combining customer frequent-flyer programs will be announced in mid-June next year.
