I read where a mom cat did EXACTLY the same thing with her one kitten. Then in front of the woman who always fed her. died instantly.. The vet told her at times older cats give bibirth to only one kitten.

A cat came to our porch with a kitten and left the kitten behind, I offered the kitten food and milk, but I couldn’t take it in, a young Neighbor came and offered to adopt the kitten, the mama cat was found dead few days later, seems that the mother knew that it well not be able to care for her kitten and that’s why she brought it for me to care for it!

That's exactly how I got my cat...there's 2 stray cats that live in the woods behind my house...I've been feeding them daily for 8 years now...I knew the female had had kittens...went out to feed them one morning and she came out of the woods carrying a kitten...she laid it down on my patio and then went back and got another one....I took them to the vet...they were malnourished...dehydrated and their body temp was really low...so I brought them home and put them in my spare room with a little space heater and a electric blanket to sleep on ( they were only 3 weeks old ) ...one of them didn't make it 😭...but I've had the other one for almost 2 years now 🙂

Heartwarming. But bittersweet. The mother probably knew she was going to die. They usually bring their offspring to someone they trust. Then she went out in the open like they often do. and passed away.

Cats usually have more than one baby. I wonder what happened to the other babies if there was any. How cute that was momma cat bringing baby to someone she knew would take care of it.
