Percentages Edexcel Maths GCSE Nov 2018 Foundation Tier Paper 1 Question 22

Hello and thanks for watching Best Maths Tutors. We are continuing to look at the Edexcel Foundation Tier Paper 1 Maths GCSE from November 2018 and this is question 22.
This question is on the topic of percentages, and we are asked whether a salesman is correct in saying that if the bonuses in his company had been shared equally instead of 40% of the bonus going to his bosses, then he would have earned 25% more bonus. To answer the question we need to work out how much bonus he would get in both of the scenarios, and then add 25% on to the amount he would have got in the first scenario to see if he is correct. As ever in these type of questions, we need to both show all the calculations and also make a statement at the end to say what conclusion we have come to.
