The Guided Missile truly intrigues me in so many ways. In a technical sense, it really shouldn't be fascinating, but when you look at it for what it is, then you can probably understand why I find it to be so interesting: One of the only weapons that Epic TRULY removed from Fortnite. Is that not something that makes you curious? I know I'm interested!

I always found it weird that they never added it to creative mode, that mode isn’t competitive so it being op wouldn’t have mattered. I guess it being completely removed explains it (what a shame).

I 100% believe the bugs the Guided Missile had were the sole reason this thing got completely deleted. Nearly every update gave this thing new issues and I think Epic just didn’t want to deal with that anymore, given they'd have to keep tabs on legacy weapons in Creative eventually. But to all of you who maybe never got the chance to experience such glorious bugs, allow me to recount them off the top of my head as an OG:

- The rocket could come out in the complete wrong direction when fired, disorienting you or outright blowing you up if you tried to use it in an enclosed space (say, a box with a window).
- The rocket's turning speed when using a controller was…nearly nonexistent (popped up after the Season 5 revision). This was eventually fixed but this gave a MASSIVE advantage to KB&M with it when it wasn’t.
- A multitude of desync issues like “causing the missile to disappear on your screen but still have control”, “takes several seconds for it to register being destroyed by an enemy and send you back” and even “the rocket will sometimes deal no damage”.

love this thing but they'd need to rewrite the code from the ground up to fix it. And even then, I don’t know if Epic wants to

You'd think with all the crazy stuff they've added over the years it would've seen a return, but nope

Even the zapatron loosely came back through the railgun, essentially functioning the exact same

I just found this channel and I'm in love because most fortnite channels are loud and directed at kids but this mellow channel that's talking about history is very nice I hope you get some more recognition because you deserve it❤️

I remember when it dropped I was playing with a friend, got it at risky, took it to the west of wailing woods, we tried rocketriding with it. truly a epic time to play fourth Knight

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I belive you're correct regarding the assumption that the weapon was removed due to the issues with its code, I believe I also heard somewhere that it was putting to much of a strain on the engine, hence its toltal removal from the game, though that was years ago so I'm really not too sure about the legitimacy of that rumor.

2:30 actually, the wiki is wrong about that one. The wiki SAYS it was somewhat added back in the last update of ch 3 season 3
But it was ACTUALLY added in the first update of ch 3 season 4
And it wasnt just a couple of files oh no. It was ALL of its files. Including some updated sounds that weren't in the original one.
And now they updated its sounds AGAIN at the start of this season to include new sounds in a folder called "Unvault" under the guided missile folder
So we all thought the
.10 update would bring it back but nope

If they have the coding capability to do it now, I don't see why we can't get it back in the new CH1 permanent OG. Also in Creative mode, I would love to f around with it some more.
