President Moon Jae-in congratulated Xi for securing a second five-year term as the head of China's Communist Party.
In a letter to the Chinese leader, Moon offered his sincere congratulations for the success of the CCP's twice-a-decade national congress... and his re-election.
Xi's renewed mandate as the party's general secretary ensures the second half of his ten-year presidency.
The South Korean leader expressed hopes of sitting down with him in the near future to discuss ways to further consolidate the 25 year-old friendship between Seoul and Beijing, develop the ties into a practical strategic partnership... and promote peace and development on the Korean peninsula and the Northeast Asian region.
