Whoop well done Ireland. Definitely *not* small fry on the world stage. Thanks Nicola and Niall.

Just if you’re visiting Ireland, it is actually illegal to drink in public here too. We also have the special place that you are allowed to drink in, we call them “pubs”. You can buy it from a different place to drink at home. We call that an off license, which is the license required to sell alcohol that will not be consumed in the special place. It does sound weirder when you call it a special place. But the rules are the same on drinking in public.

Nobody is getting extradited for drinking in public. Its not a frivolous mechanism to be used for nonsense.

I feel those agencies should start nearer to home. More going on, big money involved and thus big cover ups, I don't believe all we are told about the Kinahans. More going on.

Public drinking in bars and hotels is fine: drunk and disorderly or public intoxication is illegal. This is standard in the US, with whom Ireland also has an extradition treaty and has since 1984. To be extradited from Ireland to another country, the offense must be the same in both countries and punishable by imprisonment for at least one year. Over the last few years, UAE laws have significantly liberalised - including sex before marriage being decriminalised, paving the way for agreements like this. The UAE are pretty excited to get rid of the Kinahan's, after repeated incidents. The connection Daniel Kinahan has is with Bahrain, a completely different country.

The UAE has a democratically elected body that guide on law making, and by and large, have significant popular support for the leadership. There are also appeal courts, and a Supreme Court in which Ireland could challenge any denials to extradition requests. Happy to answer any questions regarding UAE.

All well and good having extradition. But you have to have evidence to arrest someone first. And it don’t sound like they do

Basically it means that detectives will lose a lot of overtime. No crime, no overtime.

You of all people should know there father has contacts in the so could REAL business world that are very underestimated. They still have no charges pending. McGovern had murder charge and his father is not Kristy. Just saying. I will be surprised very surprised if they get them back. There father Kristy as you both know is working on a different level that you both are reporting on.

Folks 👍 with the news, now out, in the open .Surely, criminals will leave and relocate to a country with a no extradition policy with Ireland.
There will also be pressure from the US an ally of the UAE.
