Lots of Russian tourists here in Sanya, China. So many in fact that even some of the locals are speaking Russian, serving Russian food, installing Russian signs and playing Russian music in the shops. 😅

I think Russia is one of the few countries on earth that has the resources and an educated population to rise to such tasks. Be proud of your country, necessity is the mother of inventions and you guys got pretty smart people living there ❤

In the long run, this plane will benefit russia a lot.
1. Russia will be able to sell these to african and asian countries under sanctions as well. If they cant get a hold of Boeing or Airbus, then this is a great option.
2. Pride. It just shows that russia has smart people, not just buying everything from abroad.
3. The mc 21, shes beautiful

Edit: just because there's tons of problems right now, it doesn't mean it would be a good aircraft. Look at the sukhoi superjet. Very problematic at first but now, it's extremely reliable. Same for other aircraft that first started out but later became reliable. Both Western and Soviet aircraft. Like the Il 86, later became the Il 96 and now it's reliable. Or like the Tu 204. Not as "good" as western Aircraft but now reliable and safe like the west. It takes time to develop aircraft and thousands of man hours of engineering

A unique case in the world of aviation. The Russians are the only ones in the world who have managed to create an aircraft completely of their own production on a full cycle. And it is incorrect to compare the production of aircraft in the USSR and in modern Russia. The USSR is 350 million people, a huge market and close cooperative chains. Russia is only a small part of the production infrastructure of the USSR. Therefore, it is quite correct to say that the aviation industry in Russia starts from scratch.

There is fresh footage from test flights - looks very impressive for a commercial airliner that size!

Not all international flights from Russia are more expensive now. As an example flights to Australia are even cheaper than they were in 2021. 3 years after the price is about 20% less if you flight through China (China Eastern Airlines, China Southern Airlines). That’s compared to similar flights through China as well. When compared to Singapore airlines or Middle East (Emirates Airlines, Qatar) the current discount is even more.

I hope it won't be Boeing replacement in terms of reliability :)

Suggestion: make a video about Russia's semi-conductor industry, like visiting their factories, exploring and maybe interviewing people there

As a pilot of Boeing jets, I sadly agree the US civil aircraft industry is in a bad state. That being said, the MS-21 was supposed to use the Pratt and Whitney Geared turbofan. One area that Russia has never been able to compete with American aircraft is the quality and longevity of aircraft engines. I’m interested to see what happens going forward. Of course I wish success to every civil aviation manufacturer, Boeing, airbus, and yes even Yakovlev! When quality products hit the market, everybody benefits.

Greetings from Serbia!❤
I am very glad Russia has managed to successfully sustain sanctions, including sanctions against the aviation industry. I read 105 million passengers flew in Russia in 2023, inlcuding 22 million on international routes. 👍I travelled to Russia in September 2023: I flew from SBP to Moscow, and I choose to fly by a Superjet-100 from Rossiya Airlines, but unfortunately, they changed the plane to A319. 🙁 I guess because it is a bigger aircraft and the number of passangers on that particular flight was higher than expected. Everything looks as usual on airports Pulkovo, Sheremetyevo and Vnukovo, I can confirm it.
