MODULAR HOME EXPERIENCE - ANSWERING YOUR QUESTIONS

In this video, I am answering your biggest questions about buying a modular home. My experience is from using a dealer in Northern Louisiana and a builder in Alabama. I cannot speak for how it would be like and what it would cost you to purchase a modular home in other states.

In 2016 we started the process of purchasing a modular home from Greg Tilleys in Bossier, Shreveport, Louisiana. Our builder was Platinum Homes located in Alabama. We moved into our home in May 2017 ( in the video I said march but I meant May) I hope this answers most of your questions.

You have to be careful when buying a so called Modular home. Make sure it’s an OFF FRAME MOD. It sounds like you got an On-frame modular. An off frame Modular home does not require skirting. You have brick masons pour footers and lay a brick foundation. The crane comes in and lowers the home onto the brick foundation. Just like a stick build home.
I have lived in a R-Anell off frame modular house for 25 years and have 0 issues. We paid 70k back then and it’s now valued over 250k.

Omg, I’ve been researching modular homes for months now and your video was the most helpful. When searching home, of course all of the showcase finished models look great and inviting. But people want to actually know the ins and outs to delivery, set up, quality, materials and working with contractors. Your insight too all of those things was very informative and real and honest. I watched your delivery video and was thinking how excited that experience was for you, not knowing that you’d have to go through all of those bad moments. I learned a lot from your video. Most importantly if I was to still go this route, I’d make sure to get everything in detailed writing, to go through my bank instead of one they suggest, and to be ready to be on sight each and every day those fools are working on my house. CORRECTION,   some modular companies do what's called a turn key home. This means they give you a price for everything, including septic, land prep, driveway, well etc... Of course it costs a lot more but you don't have to find the contractors yourself. Thank you for your support.

Sounds like you really got screwed. Any company that pushes their religion as a selling point is just a red flag for me. If they were really good honest people they wouldnt have to bring that up.
