IAEA gives Japan green light to release treated radioactive water into ocean

Japan has been given the go-ahead by the UN's nuclear watchdog to release treated radioactive water into the ocean. The International Atomic Energy Agency said water from the damaged Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant will have a negligible impact on the environment. China, South Korea and Japanese fishermen have criticised the move. IAEA chief Rafael Grossi met Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida in Tokyo on the first day of his four-day visit to Japan. Mr Grossi plans to visit Fukushima tomorrow, and is expected to meet fishermen and local authorities.

If the water isn't bad, just use water from Japan itself. Use it for drinking water, industrial water, and agricultural water.

The world should hold the Japan government and the IAEA lead and panel that approved the release accountable for polluting our earth and precious water resource. If this action is allow, it defeat the purlose of IMO, MARPOL rules that defend and protect our ocean from intentionally foul play from vessels and platform.

I suggest that IAEA should study the ecological risk assessment in the Pacifica Ocean. American people and the other nations including Autstralia should push IAEA to study the ecosytsem in our earth. Save the earth for our children.

Japan gov pxid bribxs and corrected the IAEA report, according to the report from Korean media on June 28.
The report was extensively modified according to the intentions of the Japanese government, received in advance.
A demand for additional amendments stating “no discovery of tritium” was made.
Concerns arose about the visit of the bribxd IAEA officials, causing delays in the release of the report.
