Here is my review of what you will actually get when you pay for a Dark Timber Knife. No groupthink just the facts.

I have a HoneyBadger, a Devils Horn, and a Comanche, and the finish on all 3 is amazing! I think, from the tone you take, that you have an axe to grind over your return? I think Dark Timer is an excellent knife for the money!

So let me get this straight, the blade is heat treated very well, ground very well, and the handle is extremely ergonomic, but the fact that the handle isn't flush means it's a shit knife? I could understand if it's a bit annoying, however it doesn't affect the performance, so why does it matter so much? And then you compared it to Bark River, which has been known to have really messed up grinds on their blades, which actually affects the performance and is actually something that is difficult to fix if need be. I would much rather deal with a non-flush handle than a messed up grind, but hey, I guess that's my opinion.

I had a Gen 2 Honey And felt the same thing. The knife was well designed and performed alright but the fit and finish was lackluster to say the least. DTK is a total Fanboy brand as far as pricing goes. There is absolutely no reason these should be more than box price. I've seen these go for 700-800 now and think that's insane.

just got the devils horn from the drop, and man its so flush that you dont even feel the transition from handle to steel, and the quality is top notch for the price :D

I get your point of view here.
Personally value design far more than perfect fit and finish, but I agree that they are aren’t worth much more than advertised.
The materials are fine if you ask me.
I like the knives a lot. Don’t have any issues with flush handles scales for the newer hidden tang models lol.
Aside from that, not big fan of flipping knives, but I guess that’s just the way it is with modern collectible knives for sale online.

Fit and finish issues are unacceptable on any knife costing that much . You think DT fanboys are rough try getting into a pissing match with a Becker or Esee fanboy .

dark timber knives has many issues! he talks about ideas, project, knife drop ect and does the opposite of what he say to the public.
maybe thats way he started the compony.
there are so many fanboys in the dtk group, make me sick to watch!

i like some of the knives and the steel, but not the guy making them.
never deliver on date and tell them a few more weeks and giving hope thats not there.
i left the group.
