You might think that high pitch screaming is the buffer, but it is in fact the clear coat leaving this realm.

I can feel the heat on the paint by just watching this.

You are a bold man to go that high and that long on surface with a high speed buffer. Respect 🤝🏽 subscribed

That 3m heavy compound has been around a long time. I remember using it in 1999, works great with wool pad. Great job!

y’all sayin clear coat left the chat, but he really didn’t take THAT much off. Looks like alot, but trust me, it’s probably got quite a bit left on it. if the clear coat was oxidized all the way through, it would be peeling up, bubbling, be more of a white color, rather than a hazy look to the paint, etc. This is purely oxidized paint, the clear coat is fine.

This is old school 1970’s collision shop method, very fast results, not recommended for beginners. Watch your edges and high spots or you will burn through. I still use this method today: Schlegel 7 1/2” 875D compound, 7 1/2” 904 polishing pads.

Type 1 DeWalt 849, eh? Don’t see those much anymore. Way better than the new ones, and made in America too. I started my detailing business with my 849 in 2008, and it still buffs like a champ. Novices are so scared of them, but that’s what professionals run, not a DA that costs three times as much and takes three times as long to do the same work. Keep shining brother!!

I'm no detailed but he isn't hanging around in any 1 spot for very long to get it too hot. It seems to me that he is not leaning on the buffer to hard either. That looks like a pretty good shine in the finish too. Overall, that's gonna look pretty slick when he is done. Looks like he knows how to do it right by the way he handles the machine and leaving no marks behind. Not knowing the reason behind the work makes it hard to comment otherwise. May be a job for an old mate, meaning it could just be to make it look better for a few more years, not a show car. Good demo 👍
