Fats Domino was simply a musical giant. His musical influence is phenomenal. As long as great music is appreciated there will always be a special place for Fats Domino.

I was looking for the original single recording by Fats & stumbled across this rockin' live version. Fantastic performance by all!

saw him in London MANY years ago. What an act! He came onto the stage pushing his grand piano with his tummy. The sax lineup was brilliantly threatening. It was a complete show. Always loved his music ever ince I sang it in a small group in 1960. But we were, of course, a very tepid version of this great man. Sorry you have left us fats....

On this day in 1962 {March 4th} Fats Domino performed his covered version of "Jambalaya" on the CBS-TV musical variety program, 'The Ed Sullivan Show'...
At the time he had two other songs on Billboard's Top 100 chart, his "You Win Again" was at #44, and the record's B-side, "Ida Jane", was at #90...
"Jambalaya" entered the Top 100 on Dec. 11th, 1961 at #63, four weeks later it would peak at #30 {for 1 week}and it spent seven weeks on the Top 100...
The record's B-side, "I Hear You Knocking", also charted, it peaked at #67...
Between 1952 and 1968 the New Orleans native had sixty-eight records on the Top 100 chart, ten made the Top 10 with his biggest hit being "Blueberry Hill", it peaked at #2 {for 3 weeks} on Billboard's Most Played by Jockeys chart, and for the three weeks it was at #2, the #1 record was "Singing The Blues" by Guy Mitchell...
Antoine Domino Jr. passed away at the age of 89 on October 24th, 2017...
May he R.I.P.

It was only few days ago that I put the MIGHT Fats Domino right up on my top 10 Rock Star list. I just heard the sad news that Fats has passed away, he was a Top Rock in Roller, away ahead of his time and a total gentleman. God will bless him for all the joy he gave to others all during his life, RIP Nobody pushed the piano off stage like FATS did, just heard a rumour that all the angles were waiting at Heavens Gate with a white grand piano, all singing. when the Saints go Marching In. New Orleans will rock and sway like never before to celebrate this Great Man life as the mighty Mississippi river will gently glide on by in salute.

¡Rock cajún del bueno! Bendito seas Fats, mi viejo héroe. Vivirás para siempre en cuantos bailaron tus canciones y se embriagaron en tu ritmo, puro y enfebrecido como las sustancias “esenciales”.

Mardi Gras was spread across the whole Emerald coast...from NewOrleans to Pensacola... one of the thrills of my life...I collected a bucket full of beads and never showed anything (they knew they were there) danced my heart out ...will never forget my favorite city and all the cool friends I made there...

Man I absolutely love Fats! Especially this. My dad always played it when I was growing up. I'm 39 now and still get that same feeling now as I did as a kid. Rest in peace big man and may your music live on....❤
