New York City renters are getting priced out

Those once sweet pandemic-era rent bargains are now turning sour. More than a third of New York City’s rental inventory from April through June likely came from tenants who were priced out of their homes, according to real estate app StreetEasy.

My rent is going up from $1600 to $2500 my Lanlord is a slumlord and hasn’t painted or repaired my spy since I moved in the audacity to charge me $2500 for a apartment and conditions that’s not worth living in

These landlords are ridiculous because they are given credits for vacated apartments in their buildings when they file their taxes. So in reality they haven't lost any money, it is just greed which is totally disgusting.

Buy a house? When it cost 800k in jamaica Queens now for single family. Only option is to flee or be homeless
