hey man, thanks for the explanation, i was by a river, opened yt and searched for skipping a rock, i was able to skipultiple rocks and taught some kids how to do it too, iam do happy rn

Two key forces act on a skipping stone: gravity, which pulls it down, and lift, the reactive force of the water, which pushes the stone up each time it hits the surface. If the lift force is greater than the force of gravity then the stone bounces up; otherwise it sinks, that’s the science behind skipping stones

Also make sure the rock is pointing a little upwards and throw it a little into the water, because if you go lower you get less bounces and if you go super low you get no bounces, so throw it like 22, 5 degrees into the water and the rock pointing about the same just upwards. And of course a LOT of spin to make sure it keeps it’s flat surface towards the water and doesn’t flip! Good video tho, and nice view.
