Garmin Nuvi 2599LMTHD pt.4 (Bluetooth and Smartlink)

This video covers Bluetooth options and smartphone link for the Garmin 2599 LMTHD. I go through the new options and screen that you can access on the nuvi 2599lmthd once you connect it to a phone. I also show what can be done when you download the smartphone link on your smart phone and use it with the nuvi 2599 lmthd. Some options with the smartphone link feel like they copy functionality that all ready exists on the Garmin Nuvi 2599 LMTHD.

The nuvi 2599LMTHD comes with life time map updates as well as life time traffic with speed limit indication. The 2599 lmthd has a 5 inch screen which make it very easy to see. It also can change its orientation from landscape to portrait.

Can u use smart link for trip planner? Lets say u are in your house and have to make a couple of stops for the day. Set it up on smart link then when u get into the car where the GPS device is, once connected, the routes will be sent over?
Or can you only send one destination at a time from smart link?

they changed it, live traffic, radar info and fuel prices is now free services at least on my garmin. that's pretty useful in my opinion

i wish i knew and i still debating on this issue of alternative routes. Traffic avoidance on my latest "2699" isnt par to free google app on my phone. Please. it cant get me basic fastest route to avoid traffic.

I am planning on buying this, just a few questions, when your on the phone, does it take the route off screen ? Also can you answer via your voice ? Can you navigate phone calls and the route at the same time ? Also is the live traffic any good ? Lastly would you suggest this as a good overall sat nav/hands free kit ? Thank you :)

Hi, great videos I have picked up such a lot watching them so far. I have one very simple question. When I first purchased my 2599 eight months ago, I also bought a back up micro sd card, 32 GB and inserted it into the unit. But when doing my latest update my unit was giving me a red line saying it's internal memory was 95% full. Despite taking the card out, reinserting it and even checking that it was correctly formatted in dos fat 32 format the unit and the software failed to acknowledge the existence of the card. What am I doing wrong, have I got a defective unit which won't take the next update? I have also tried a smaller card an 8GB one and it still is not acknowledging it.

While riding a motorcycle, can I get the voice directions from a Garmin Nuvi 256 sent to my iPhone 5 (while wearing earbuds) so I can hear the GPS navigation ?
The Nuvi doesn't have a audio out connection, just a speaker, and I can't hear the speaker while wearing a helmet and find it dangerous always looking at the Nuvi screen for visual directions, not to mention the sun glare on the screen. Suggestions?

do you have to have data pan (3-4G network) in order to use your gps as hand free calling?

I wish someone would make an app that would easily take a route I've created on Google Maps and send it directly to my Garmin. I know that there is a way to do it with a computer and downloading and uploading files -- but it is tedious. Seems an App could do this.

Nice review!...Recently bought the Garmin 2589 LMT. I love it! However I'm having trouble with downloading the Garmin express software. At first I thought it was an issue on my part because I had updated my laptop to the Windows 10 but I quickly found out that regardless of whatever Windows you have operating there is a trouble with downloading the Garmin Express software seems to be a common issue.

would appreciate any feedback on the matter.

how do I get update for voice? I received a garmin message that a new update is available and to get it go to garmin website and click on my dashboard tab...I did all that except I could not find my dashboard tab.
