Tina Edwards is a DJ, broadcaster, music journalist and curator. She's been a vocal champion of contemporary jazz, club culture and underground music for 15 years; find her broadcasting across Soho Radio, British Airways and Worldwide FM, and performing in tiny venues through to festival main stages. She's Editor of Listen Zine which spotlights global underground music scenes and she hosted BBC One's Jazz UK: Spitting Fire documentary. Her jazz dancefloor party, Love is Everywhere, pays homage to classic parties like Shiftless Shuffle and Dingwalls, featuring Jazz dance, latin, house, broken beat and more.
Next 'Love is Everywhere' dates:
"I have so much adoration for UK Jazz dancers. You'll find most of them in London and Tokyo, and I wanted to provide an opportunity for people outside of those areas to discover this amazing dance style, which was first developed in the UK in the 70s. With my track selection, I've played with different tempos (can't go 135bpm the whole time—gotta let the dancers recoup!), and I allowed space between tracks for the dancers to find the incoming tempos. This was such a fun set; I hope the joy pours out from the screen and into you".
