Right now I'm willing to chalk it up to poor translation to Youtube video but that felt choppy as all. That second form had so much visual movement for what was essentially a sidestep before a pitifully short dodge roll. Only for there to be an incomprehensible explosion of purple and then you're right next to an enemy having completed an attack.
Hopefully, it feels better when you're the one controlling it.
