At Domino, we think otherwise. The rewards of being a model-driven business are massive, nothing less than existential. But there’s no easy button. You need experts.

Drag and drop tools are great for traditional reporting use cases like sales forecasting and marketing campaign design. But the models that directly impact customer experience and revenue, or power breakthroughs that keep you ahead of competitors — like predicting credit risk, classifying security threats, or identifying new drugs - require experts. Experts with training, skill and wisdom.

Citizen data scientists and drag-and-drop tools are going to do a lot of great work in the coming years. Like lifeguards and personal tax software, they’re super valuable in the right situations. But they won’t make you model-driven.
