Good animation, but not going to happen in real world situation. Sorry folks but a C-17 can not land on an air craft carrier.

The C-17 is a STOL aircraft, but not that short. A runway of at least 3500 feet is preferred for both landing and take off. There is a recorded distance of 2500 feet, but that was all landing conditions optimal.

As a former C17 Capt this is not possible. But it could crash onto the Carrier but not with me at the controls !!

No wake, the ship isnt moving. The wingspan would take out the bridge, and a C-17 does not have a tail hook. So in reality, if the pilot were actually lucky enough to hit the deck, the right wing would be severed by the bridge and the aircraft would then spin off the deck into the ocean at near the same speed as touchdown.

Ever seen a C17 parked next to a C130 that's when see how big the C17 is.. the C17 would rip it's wing off on the Carrier island..

VERY good simulation. It took me until after the landing to fully realize that this was just a simulation. There actually have been experimental landings of large aircraft on carriers, so I didn't completely dismiss it at first.

Good animation. I did watch a C-17 do a STOL landing at McChord when they first came out and I was amazed. It used about an 8th of the runway to land, backed up and taxied off the runway. I was amazed. Made me realize what an ol' dog the C-141s we had were.

CG animation and a story line that's pure science fiction. The United States landed the largest aircraft to ever land on a aircraft carrier and it was a C-130. And the Hercules is less than 1 third the size of the C-17.
