Kurt Russell announced as the 2022 National Teacher of the Year

Kurt Russell, a history teacher from Oberlin High School in Ohio, has been named the 2022 National Teacher of the Year. He joined “CBS Mornings” to talk about the honor and what it means to him.

He was my history aka social studies teacher back in 01....he pulled me after school 1 day and sat me down and help me past my test for history...it was so easy that i passed it with flying colors to help me graduate...and he so smooth in the classroom i remember ppl telling jokes and interrupting his class and instead of him controling us he joined in the jokes and roasted who ever tried him then moonwalked right back into teaching😁💯 its a rare gift most teachers dont have and im so proud he getting his flowers...most definitely a OB legend and OB

Wow congratulation Mr. Russell Mr. Russell was my high school history teacher. This is so wonderful to see one of my favorite teachers be honored.
